Yes, I understand I missed last week. How about a four-pic-feature this week to make up for it. Sound fair?
Hunting for suntones is rough. You can work for 15 minutes on a piece of rock to find nothing. But the search for the big one is worth it.
Life seems to come at you with a seemingly endless number of footholds and slick spots. Similar to climbing, you can plan, predict, and prepare, but what matters most is how you exectue.
These bank notes were recorded for the purpose of Wells Fargo many years ago when traveling Westward. I believe it’s just amazing to think about how far we have come since then and can hardly imagine where we’re headed. I’m sure the writers of this never expected anything like online banking, worldwide transactions, and billions of dollars under their control. It’s inspiring to know that where we are now in life does not represent what we will be always.
On Saturday, I developed a pizza recipe from scratch and discovered it to be quite successful. Based around pizza I had in California over thanksgiving, the most vitial topping of this creation has to be zucchini. After having it, I believe that nothing is so amazing on top of cheese, sauce, and bread. If you’re looking for the finer details on the recipe, drop me a comment and I’ll lay out the whole thing for you. Enjoy!
Charles was a little suprise that packs a lot of cute factor. As a miniature daschund, he’ll always remain little, but I look forward to when he’s house trained and can walk down stairs.
This week I figured that I would show some appreciation for someone who’s quite significant in my life. I don’t think anyone has made me more proud of being me. She often shows enthusiasm for even my quietest features. She’s amazing and here she is.
And just like that, it’s Friday once more… Self photography has never been a strong point for me. Often I find that I tend to look unnatural in the 10 second rush into position. However, while experimenting the other day, I came up with this photo. I believe the picture itself is a metaphor to the world around me when I am caught up in inspiration. All else is out of focus, nothing there to interfere with my bullet-train of thought. This is my escape.
This one has a bit of a story behind it. It involves getting stuck on top of Point of the Mountain in two feet of snow with Jake’s Ford Explorer. After getting stuck, but still wanting to take photos, we walked the rest of the route and came across this little station at Geneva Rock. I captured a few long exposures until the temperature of the tripod was unbearable to hold with bare hands anymore. Afterwards, we returned to our original problem of the stuck truck. One McDonalds bag full of dirt, three handfuls of sticks, and one Doug Bonham later, we mad our way out of the situation and back home. What a Saturday night.
“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compas me about with songs of deliverance. Selah” – Psalms 32:7 This verse has come to mean a lot to me in the months past. It gives comfort to know that in all of the madness of this world, we are offered a place of peace and safety.
In honor of my two week journey back home, I leave you with a photo of Leopold. He’s my favorite Papillon ever. The word papillon is French for “butterfly.” The name comes from the distinctive markings on the face of the breed. Anyone who can find the shape gets a cookie.
